These are genuine Vertex "B" size cast pistons. KTM's piston manufacture forever up to 2025.
We have already pre cut the bottoms of the intake tabs, so it won't hit the crankshaft.
In 2025, KTM changed the piston manufacture from Vertex to Elko. The ELKO piston is even longer on the intake side than the VERTEX, making a problem waiting to happen even worse.
It's the stretching and compressing of the crank rod and the rocking of the piston that lets the skirt touch the crank, at the higher RPM's, and it's disaster when it does.
It's not a time thing, like waiting for 100 hours of riding and then do it. It's a mechanical thing and can happen anytime. So cover your ass and change the piston while you can.
